  • Where are your studios?
All of our studios are located in the same building in Battersea, SW8 4AS. This is an industrial setting within a short walk from Battersea Park, Queenstown Road, and Battersea Power station.
  • Is there free parking onsite? What is the closest station?
During weekdays, there is off street parking which is free before 11AM and after 12PM. Before 12PM, there are limited pay by phone spaces in the courtyard. There is usually street parking available surrounding the building on Havelock Terrace and Bradmead. If you would like to avoid re-parking if you are here between 11AM-12PM, the nearest parking lot is at the Battersea Power Station and is a short walk away. Street parking is free all day on Saturday and Sunday. We are also less than a 10 minute walk away from Battersea Park station, Queenstown Road station, and Battersea Power station.
  • Can I come in for a tour?
Of course! Please email us at info@manyroomsstudios.com or give us a call at 0736 158 6556 to arrange a time.
  • What is the minimum amount of time I can book? How long should I book?
When you are thinking about the amount of time to book, please consider things like outfit changes, staging, setting up the lighting, etc. Often, an unexpected amount of time can easily be eaten up by something as small as parking or steaming an outfit. The amount of time that you schedule should include about 5-10 minutes return the room in the same condition it was found. It is always more relaxing to over-estimate and take it slow than try to rush through! The shortest duration for any booking is one hour, and we book each session by the hour.
  • What are your hourly rates?
Our Battersea Room is set at £50/hour and our Hewlett Room is set at £75/hour. If this amount is not accessible, please do let us know as we are often running promotions and are happy to negotiate for longer bookings. If you would like to book for several days, weeks, or months at a time, please send us an email at info@manyroomsstudios.com and we can arrange a custom offer. For commercial bookings our hourly rates are increased. Please send us an email if you are booking for commercial use!
  • What are your hours?
Our regular hours are 8AM - 6PM everyday of the week. We offer flexible hours and can accommodate most bookings even on weekends, late at night and early in the morning. You can book most off-hours on our website, but if our system isn't allowing you to select the timing you need, please contact us. All bookings scheduled during the weekend, bookings starting at 7AM, and starting after 6PM will be billed an additional £50.
  • What if I need longer in the studio than initially booked?
Please speak with the studio manager by calling or texting 0736 158 6556 if you need more time. We will try our best to accommodate your request, provided no booking is scheduled immediately after yours. In such a scenario, we would happily extend your booking at the regular hourly rate for the room. We charge all overtime by the hour.
  • How many rooms do you have?
We currently have two studios: Battersea Room & Hewlett Room. They are both located in the same building and can be rented separately or together.
  • Do you offer photography or videography services?
We are so happy to refer some of our favourite photographers! Please check out our photographer page to see some of their work and arrange a session with them. If you want, please shoot us an email info@manyroomsstudios.com with some information about the type of shoot you have in mind and we can help narrow down your search.
  • What if I need help or need to change my booking?
We understand that sometimes the unexpected happens! If you need to make any changes or if you are running behind on the big day, please give us a ring at 0736 158 6556.
  • What happens the day of my shoot?
Before your shoot, please be sure to see and sign the Studio Use Agreement. This is required to confirm any bookings in our studios. After your booking is made, we will send you extra details with information on parking, how to access the building, our address and contact details. Once you arrive at the building, please give us a ring at the number provided, or at 0736 158 6556 and our studio assistant will come outside to welcome you in. To gain access into our building, you must be taken inside with one of our staff, please refrain from entering the building, or asking the building manager for assistance. Our studio assistant will then take you up, show you the room and equipment, and provide additional details. After, the assistant will leave you to complete your shoot!
  • Can I arrive early to set up?
We kindly ask to arrive for your booking no more than 5 minutes before your booked time, as we book clients back-to-back and we may be preparing the room for you. Please refrain from entering the building, or asking the Hewlett House building manager for assistance.
  • Do you have paper backdrops?
Yes, we keep several rolls of Colorama paper backdrops in our rooms. Please send us an email at info@manyroomsstudios.com if you would like to request one, and we can send you sample images of the colours we currently stock. Each Colorama use is £15. Please note that we do not set up the Colorama for your session, but our staff can help explain how it works! The process is relatively simple, and please remember to treat the paper with care when you set the roll up and put it away.
  • Can I rent out cameras, polyboards, podcast mics, or any other equipment?
We only rent out some of our cameras. These are: Canon 5D Mark iv Canon M50 mark ii Otherwise, we do not have additional equipment for rental outside of what is listed on each room's page.
  • What are the differences between your rooms?
Both rooms offer similar props, furniture and equipment but they are different styles - the Battersea Room has more cream colours and is more lifestyle focused while the Hewlett Room has cooler tones with an editorial look. Of course, all of our studios can be manipulated and designed to fit the needs of your shoot! For equipment, the Battersea room has a ring light and Godox flash with a softbox while the Hewlett room does not. The Hewlett room does come with an additional ≈250 sqft and a curtained-off area with tea/coffee that can double as an MUA or changing area. Both rooms have a Godox continuous light, 2 x panel lights, iPhone and camera tripods, spare standard stands, a curtain backdrop, and a clothes steamer.
  • Can I drop off my props the day before my session or leave them overnight and pick them up the next day?
Yes, you can drop off your props the day before your session or leave them overnight and pick them up the next day. However, please note that we charge a flat holding fee of £100 per evening. This fee reserves the room for your props and ensures that it cannot be booked by another client during that time. Additionally, this fee covers the cost of arranging staffing to assist in the drop-off and pick-up. If you need to arrange for prop holding, please contact us in advance to ensure availability and make the necessary arrangements.
  • Are there any additional fees? What about VAT?
We have some additional fees that are only added on for specific instances. Colorama paper backdrop use, which is £15 per use. Cleaning fees, which are only added when the cleaning required after a booking is substantial, more than average, or if we need to bring in professional cleaners outside of our regular schedule. Repair or replacement fees, which are only requested when the hirer has permanently damaged our physical location, or damaged or removed a key fob, furniture piece, prop, equipment, other item, etc. These vary depending on the price of the item or the cost of repairs. We now charge £50 for out of hours bookings. These are bookings that start before 8AM, after 6PM, and over weekends. Dropping props off ahead of time (the day before) or leaving props overnight: We charge a flat £100 for leaving furniture or the setup as is. This is because the room cannot be booked during this time. If you booked two days in a row and would like to leave the room as is, we will require this fee. The room will still be cleaned in between days. Our fees are also disclosed in our T&Cs. We do not charge VAT and our rates do not include it.
  • Is my shoot personal (concession) or commercial?
We charge for bookings involving photography and video footage according to the purpose and distribution of the footage. We classify hires as either commercial or concession. Commercial projects are generally defined as content intended for purposes that generate dividend profit. This can include advertisements, music videos, TV shows, movies, corporate videos, and product photography. Concession or personal projects are typically categorised as content not primarily intended for profit generation. This includes content for individual use, editorial purposes, social media, and educational projects. When deciding if your project is commercial or concession, consider how the content be distributed: Will it be widely disseminated through commercial and broadcasted channels or primarily shared privately or on social media? You should also consider monetisation: Is there an expectation or potential for financial gain from the content, such as through advertising revenue or direct sales? Will you be receiving dividends or a percentage of revenue as the final product continues to accrue revenue? If you have any questions please send us an email at info@manyroomsstudios.com and we are happy to help!
  • What is your rescheduling/cancellation policy?
Bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 7 working days' notice prior to the scheduled session date. If the booking is cancelled before the required 7 working days' notice, no cancellation fee will apply. For cancellations, a £20 administrative fee will apply, which will be deducted from any refund issued. The total amount on the invoice will be due and payable if cancellation is made within 7 working days or less of the scheduled session date. We do not have designated changing or MUA facilities, but we have the equipment and spaces for your team to set up curtained off areas for changing or tables/chairs for hair and makeup teams. Please be mindful that there are cameras in our rooms, and we kindly ask all clients to change clothes in the toilets or use the curtains/changing screens at your discretion.
