How to get your photography business SEEN online

Living in the era of algorithms, it often seems necessary to create engaging reels or TikToks in order to navigate the algorithm and promote your business effectively. While this may sound like a daunting task, drawing from my 10 years of experience in social media marketing and photography, there are key principles that have stood the test of time.

Below is a compilation of my 3 top tips to STAND OUT and rise to the top of search engines and social media platforms so you can see dozens of clients atleast enquire every day:

  1. GET ON TO EVERY MAJOR

  1. PLATFORM FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

**Pinterest**

Pinterest is a favored platform for sharing photos, gifs, and infographics as pins, allowing you to link them back to your website for easy access by your audience. Joining Pinterest's community of over 250 million users worldwide is free, enabling you to start pinning photos to your boards and engage with other users.

**Flickr**

Flickr, one of the oldest and most popular photo-sharing platforms, allows you to upload your photos and join community groups based on photography genres. You can also include a link to your website on your profile for visitors to explore. With both free and paid versions available, Flickr offers flexibility in image uploads.

**Instagram**

Instagram has gained widespread popularity for its image-centric approach and content sharing capabilities. Utilizing hashtags on Instagram can significantly boost visibility and engagement, with posts containing at least one hashtag receiving higher interactions. You can also include links to your website in posts to attract viewers to explore more of your work.

Tiktok

Love it or hate it, Tiktok has become one of the top platforms for showcasing your work. The platform now offers carousels for sharing images in a swipeable format. Utilizing Tiktok to provide behind-the-scenes glimpses of client photoshoots is recommended - as your clients are likely to share this content on their own social media, potentially attracting new clients through their followers.

2. POST INTERESTING CONTENT DAILY AND FREQUENTLY

Posting your images consistently every day will certainly boost the algorithm, but it may give the impression that you are fully occupied. Your captivating stories should showcase your interactions with various clients and reflect your business's identity. Customers appreciate real-life scenarios as it helps them envision themselves collaborating with you! Enhance your content by making it interactive - pose questions, conduct polls, and seek feedback from your audience. This fosters a sense of involvement in your business among your followers.

3. WORK ON YOUR WEBSITE AND SEO

You can spend thousands on your photo equipment, but if you dont invest in your website you may never reach your clientele goals! Your website should showcase all that is spectacular about your business, show your best images and make it easy for viewers to contact you. Then once your website is up to scratch, get your SEO sorted and start climbing the Google ranks - the higher you are the more visible you will be be to users.

If you have any favorite photo-sharing sites not mentioned here, feel free to share them in the comments.
